Questions About ALES
1. How Long Is an ALES Certificate Valid?
The ALES certificate is valid for 5 (five) years from the date on which the exam results are announced.
2. Are There Exemptions From the ALES Score Requirement?
Yes. ALES is not required for candidates who:
have completed a doctorate (PhD), specialization in medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, or veterinary medicine, or proficiency in arts;
will be appointed to specialization areas in vocational schools determined by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK);
have served or are serving in teaching staff positions at higher education institutions.
Candidates wishing to benefit from this exemption must document their exemption status in their application file. In the preliminary and final evaluations, the ALES score is deemed to be 70.
If an exempt candidate nevertheless has another valid ALES certificate, the score stated on that certificate may be taken as the basis instead.
